The TacticalCore is the digital core in the tactical communications and information network

TacticalCore

TacticalCore is the end-to-end, manufacturer-independent information and communication platform.

TacticalCore allows adaptation to customer-specific digitization speeds.

It enables complete digitization even with existing infrastructure and at the same time creates the basis for a future-proof, completely customizable communications environment.

The TacticalCore is information and communications middleware

Designed for dismounted, mobile and deployable forces with a holistic management and security management system.

End-to-end from the soldier to the command facilities.

Middleware

Future-proof architecture for today’s communication

The features of the TacticalCORE are

  • a scalable and modular system and software architecture
  • Agnostic interfaces to transmission systems, applications and peripheral devices and extensive hardware independence
  • security functions (IT security, communication security, cyber security)
  • Low operational effort and costs
Features

At a glance

In the area of communications, the TacticalCore platform offers an architecture that flexibly establishes all connections with all participants and provides data – dynamically, securely, scalably and easily.

Services and central connections are provided.

However, they are not necessary for operation.

Voice and data services are always guaranteed for the connected subscribers.

How does digitization come about?

TacticalCore

Successful digitization requires a holistic view of the tactical communications and information architecture.

Digitization

Initial situation

Basic terms for classification

Command and control

The command and control capability of armed forces requires an information and communications network that covers all relevant elements (facilities, platforms/vehicles, people) at all levels of command.

Information must be available at both upper and lower levels of command.

Categorization

For upper command levels, stationary and deployable communications equipment is typically required.

For lower levels of command, mobile communications assets are primarily required.

The TacticalCore therefore uses the following classification for better understanding:

soldier (male and female soldiers)
mobile (mobile equipment, vehicles)
deployable (stationary or deployable)

Overall system

The information and communications network must combine stationary, deployable and mobile communications solutions into an overall system.

Interoperability

Various communications solutions, especially stationary and mobile ones, must be interoperable and thus universal.

This interoperability must be considered across all connection types, manufacturers and forms of integration.

Requirements

Today, information-processing systems to be used within the information and communications network are placing increasingly high demands on this network.

Applications mostly require Internet protocol-based (IP-based) communication and higher transmission bandwidths.

Integratability

Some of the systems introduced in armed forces are outdated, often do not meet information security requirements and either do not meet the requirements for end-to-end, IP-based communications or cannot be integrated into an information and communications network, or only at considerable expense.

Situation

Perspectives

The TacticalCore is a modular platform that can be broken down into three perspectives from a hardware perspective.

Soldier

Our vendor-independent soldier system provides the interface for maximum connectivity and integrability

Mobile

Our integration solutions for mobile units enable the construction of mobile, high-performance network systems

mobile

deployable

Our modular, deployable systems ensure internationally deployable, protected communications

Connection. Anytime. Everywhere.

Modular platform

The TacticalCore platform is available as a backpack, vehicle and deployable (stationary) solution. It is the connecting element at all tactical levels and acts as a digital bracket in heterogeneous systems.

deployable

Deployable, stationary systems

mobile

On-board or vehicle-mounted mobile equipment

soldier

Equipment for highly mobile use on the soldier.

Technology in focus

Traditional communications networks require proprietary radio and encryption technologies to ensure information exchange.

Advanced technologies such as mobile broadband (5G) can improve C4ISR capabilities, sustainability and mobility for modern military operations. TacticalCore unifies voice and data communications for soldiers, providing a clear view of the tactical situation and bringing services to where the demand is greatest: the tactical edge.

Complexity

The infantryman plays a central role in today’s complex military operations. As the enemy actively employs cyber and electronic warfare, it is absolutely essential that nations stay informed of the latest technological developments and capabilities while maintaining existing tactical communications methods that have been proven in the field.

In real time

The goal is a better protected soldier who has a clear operational picture through reliable communications. Each dismounted soldier becomes a real-time data source for command and control, enabling faster, fact-based decision making with a vastly improved situational awareness.
